ITU Treasurer honoured in Spain

Marisol Casado, ITU treasurer and ETU president, will become a member of the Royal Order of Merit awarded by the Spanish Sports Council with the Silver Medal category as reported by the Assessor Committee of the Royal Order of Merit in accordance with her merits, circumstances and contribution to sport.

The Assessor Committee of the Royal Order of Merit has highlighted that this well-deserved honour is a recognition to her brilliant career, which has been useful for the national and international growth of Spanish sport in a decisive way.

The ceremony will take place May 7 at 1pm at the School of Physical Activity and Sports Science-INEF in Madrid.

Marisol Casado, born in Madrid in 1956, is ITU treasurer and ETU president. Moreover, she is Spanish Triathlon Federation general secretary, Latin American Triathlon Association treasurer and Woman and Sport Commission COE (Spanish Olympic Committee) president.

Its a great honour to receive this award. I want to share it with my colleagues and I would like to thank all the people that have contributed to my career and all the institutions involved, said Marisol Casado.
