Rob Noordzij claims Paratriathlon European Winter title

Rob Noordzij added a Winter Triathlon European Championship title to his list of accolades and achievements after completing the Tri-4 category race in Tartu.

As the only Paratriathlete competing at the Championships, Noordzij (NED) completed the 3.6km run / 9.6km mountain bike / 5.4km ski in 1:37:05.

Across the eleven age group categories in Tartu, new European Winter Triathlon Championship titles were crowned in every category.

The oldest competitor, Germany’s Wolter Reinhold, 76, finished in 1:54:29 in the 75-79 Male Category.

Gennady Rozhkov maintained Russia’s dominance across the entire Championships by claiming Gold in the 70-74 Male category.

Peter Grünebach (GER) had to hold off the challenge of countryman Steffen-luis Neuendorff to secure gold in the 65-69 category and there was delight for the home fans as Kaarel Schmidt claimed gold for Estonia in the 60-64 category.

Polina Andreeva secured gold in the 60-64 Female category for Russia.

Latvia’s Anatolijis Levsa held off the challenge of Russian Alexander Kolomkin in the 55-59 Male category.

In the biggest Age Group field, Andrey Sharygin (RUS) secured the European Winter title in the 50-54 category with Eha Lehtoja winning for Estonia in the Female 50-54 category.

In the 45-49 category, Urmas Utar (EST) was victorious in the Men’s category with Nataliya Sila-novitskaya taking the glory in the women’s category.

In a hugely competitive 40-44 category, Andres Kulbin of Estonia became European Champion in the men’s category and the women’s title went to Ana Sulbi (EST).

Sergey Mishanin (RUS) took gold in the 35-39 Male category and Inge Kool (EST) was the winner in the female category.

In the 30-34 Male category, Andrey Mishanin took the European title with Martin Hikanik crowned Champion in the 25-29 male category.

Finally, in the 16-19 age group, Mihkel Kalja and Sirje Lepik made it a double for Estonia.
