Powerade Bay Islands Triathlon 2006

The Island of Roatan in the Bay Islands of Honduras is almost ready to have to honor of hosting the 4th annual happening of the Bay Islands Triathlon brought to us by Powerade and other sponsors.

Nicholas Becker from France, Xavier Llobet, and Omar Tayara Rodriguez from Spain are among the athletes that are already in Roatan. A large group of American pros are expected to arrive soon, as well as athletes from Puerto Rico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and it’s top ranked Leonardo Chacon. Ana Boccanera from Brazil, are among the Southamerican females to contend for the top positions. Also to be mentioned are several females from Canada, some of who are returning to Roatan; and third time visitor, and 2-time winner of the Bay Islands Triathlon, Susan Williams of the U.S. will arrive soon.

The organizers and sponsors have been working hard to put this event together, and believe it’s a great venue to bring together people from all over the world.

The Powerade Bay Islands Triathlon starts this next Saturday, March 25th. Mild and warm weather is expected, under sunny skies, and absoluteley crystal clear waters. The entire island is invited for the beach party after the race to start the celebrations of that day.
