Live Coverage In Progress

By World Triathlon Admin | 03 May, 2008

Tune in this weekend for live coverage of the 2008 Richards Bay BG Triathlon World Cup. This marks the 3rd time South Africa will host a world cup. Richards Bay is the only African city to host an ITU World Cup. This race marks the 199th world cup event in ITU history.

There is plenty of excitement around this weekends race. Richards Bay will serve as an Olympic selection event for the Austrians who have sent 6 athletes with the notable exception of Kate Allen, who is still recovering from her crash in New Plymouth.
On the men’s side Richards Bay welcomes World Champion Daniel Unger in his first World Cup race since the Beijing test event in September. He, along with podium regular Volodymyr Polikarpenko and recent US Olympic nominee Matt Reed will be looking to challenge defending Richards Bay winner and home boy Henrik De Villiers.

There will be no audio/video from this event but we will keep you up to date with live timing, text and still pictures. Live coverage for the 2008 Richards Bay BG Triathlon World Cup will begin on Sunday May 4th at 10:30 local time, 1 hour before the women’s start.
