Listen to the interview with Loretta Harrop on her future in the sport after she announced at a press conference in Brisbane, Australia that she has withdrawn from the 2006 Commonwealth Games as she and her husband Brad are expecting their first child in August.
This means that Harrop will miss most of the 2006 season but plans to be back in time in order to qualify and compete in her third Olympic games in Beijing 2008.
The Triathlon Australia selectors will meet after this weekend’s ITU SMF Hobart Oceania Cup to select a replacement for the 2006 Commonwealth Games team.
The ITU would like to extend their congratulations to Loretta and Brad and wish them and their new family all the best over the next year.
