ASTC offers Level 1 TO Course in Hong Kong

A group of 19 officials from Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka recently attended a one-day ITU Level 1 Technical Officials Course, which consisted of both theoretical and practical sessions.

All of the participants that attended are already highly-experienced officials who have been officiating at diverse national and international events in their own countries. The course assisted the officials in expanding their ITU rule knowledge, as well as encouraged them to share their own experiences and expertise.

David Hoong, Asia Regional Representative and ASTC Treasurer, attended the course and said, “I am so glad to have a course in Hong Kong. This course will help these technical officials have more roles in Asian Cup events.”

Peter Chua, who facilitated the course, expressed his confidence in the event’s success, as well as his gratitude for the group’s consistent interaction.

“Their cooperative mood helped me feel comfortable and confident delivering my presentation,” Chua said. “I am certain that I shared all my knowledge and experience with the participants.”

ASTC Sports Development Coordinator Ki Woo Kyong praised the technical officials who spoke at the course and believes the seminar encouraged participating TOs to officiate at ITU events.
