Level 2 Technical Officials Seminar held in Japan

ITU and ASTC held the Level 2 Technical Officials seminar to provide opportunities for Technical Officials to update recent change in triathlon and enhance Technical Officials’ knowledge and officiating skills for CTOs in Hatsukaichi, Japan.

japan level 2 course21 Technical Officials from 7 different countries (Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Australia, and Germany) joined the 2 day seminar consisting of classroom sessions and practical sessions. Two ITU facilitators, Mr. David Hoong from Singapore and Ms. Rachel Ribo from Philippines, conducted the seminar in the cheerful and cooperative mood created by them; inviting questions, giving group workouts, and requesting feedbacks.

“It was my good learning experience to update ITU competition rules and EOM and share our experiences with our colleagues in Asia and other continents. I really enjoyed the seminar,” said Mineki Sonokawa, one of the most experienced Technical Officials from Japan.    

Level 2 technical officials japan “It was my great pleasures to deliver the Level 2 TO seminar in Hatsukaichi, Japan. Rachel and I was very impressed with the level of the Technical Officials who were in attendance,” said David Hoong (ITU facilitator).

“This is the first Level 2 Technical Officials Seminar after the event. Two facilitators could make the seminar more interactive and comfortable because most of participants have officiated together at the ASTC Hatsukatichi Asian Championships before the seminar. Also they could look back at what they did at the events,” said Ki, Woo Kyong, ASTC Sport Development Coordinator.
