The International Triathlon Union has the pleasure of welcoming the addition of Rob Harvey of Great Britain to the team as the new ITU Development Coach starting this January 2017.

As triathlon continues to be one of the fastest growing sports, there is an increasing demand in developing and emerging National Federations for the advancement of athlete development projects, talent ID, coach education programmes, mentoring opportunities and relevant educational resources all around the world. The new Development Coach will assist and aid in these needs.

Harvey has a rich professional background that will bring a strong asset to the programme. He has spent five years working as a coach at the British Triathlon Performance Centre in Leeds where he gained significant experience working with Junior, U23 and Senior athletes. As a Coach Educator, Harvey has worked with organisations including British Triathlon, British Cycling and Union Cycliste Internationale delivering courses in English & Spanish in countries including Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, UK, Switzerland and UAE.  He also worked as Head Coach at Manchester Triathlon Club during a period of significant growth in triathlon in UK developing the coaching team and training programme to support 600 members racing across all types and distances of triathlon events.

“Over my career I’ve been lucky enough to work across a wide variety of roles in coaching, coach education and sports development.  To be able to bring these experiences together in this new role as ITU Development Coach is an exciting challenge and one I can’t wait to start.”

Welcome Coach Harvey!
